Just wondering if anyone else switched out there RA2 (5.0) to a RA3/4 and lost there sports mode? Today I installed a RA4 (HD, with Nav) into my '15 Shaker.Wow what an upgrade from the RA2 radio.
Lutron has been an innovative force in the field of lighting for several decades. The company’s latest product release innovates on the dealer side of the category. The company’s newly launched RadioRA 2 design and programming tool is available as a free download.
The new version 7 software offers dealers a simplified method of system design. The Pa.-based manufacturer says the design tool incorporates its latest products, including its Pico remotes and Sivoia QS Wireless Shades, to help dealers design state-of-the-art lighting systems for a variety of clientele.
“The new RadioRA 2 software will help system installers embrace the newest Lutron products and expand their lighting, shade and temperature control business,” explains Rich Black, director, residential product management and business development at Lutron.
Some of the software’s other key features include:
- Options for setting low-end and high-end trim levels
- Installers can add new devices to a project
- Separates native loads from those requiring interfaces
- Offers new tilt options for the control of Lutron shades
- Includes a link to the Lutron Support Forum

I recently bought a home and have started researching into home automation. I just discovered that I have a Lutron RadioRA Receiver, a keypad, and a bunch of dimmer switches setup throughout the house. As far as I understand, there's no way for me to setup home automation with this system. So I'm debating upgrading (slowly) to RadioRA 2, or moving to Lutron Casetta instead.
Has anyone made either of these changes? Any advice? Would I notice a difference in user experience (latency, reliability) if I were to move to Casetta?
Thanks for the help!
